glenr,
How do you like the ported barrel, Do you feel it makes a big difference? It sure looks great.

I never have fired an unported DE .50 but I have noticed the muzzle lift isn't as high as with other guns and the owner of the gun shop/range mentioned that the muzzle;e lift was much so I guess it does. Now you also have to take in to account that I load reduced velocity loads all I short are starting loads and so far they do cycle the gun.

close up of the ports The ports extended thru the wide top side of the slide, so there is no restrictions of the flow thru the ports.

Thanks . Your pictures are nice. I spend a lot of time in Ocala Forrest so I really need a camera. Looking at a Canon ESO T6i. Can I ask what other guns you have?

Hi guys. First post. Saw the site over on the AK Files where I've been a member under the same user name for 4 years now. Love me some AK's but also love my DE which I've had for about 6 years. Take it out a couple times a year including last week (I live in Vegas). When I first got it, I had a lot of jams, usually couldn't get through an entire magazine. Sent it back about 6 months after I got it and told them about the problem. While it was there, had them add the compensator and jewel all the small parts. Since I've gotten it back, it has run flawlessly, not a single jam (maybe 200-250 rounds). The compensator tames recoil a good 20-25%. I love shooting the gun but it's even more fun to introduce someone new to it. They always have a smile on their face after shooting it (click on pic for full size).

Welcome to the forum brother! Good to see a fellow AKFiler on the forum! Love the treatment you got done to the small parts. I see you like the wrap around grips too.

Here is a picture of my old Mark VII that I bought right around 1990. It does have a set of Hogue grips on him now.
