I feel a thread on out of stock .357 Magnum barrels was in order. These seem to be sold out everywhere new. I have never really had much interest in a .357 barrel until recently, so I don't know if this is a normal thing or not. Anyone have any idea? Now that I have the Gas Cylinder/Piston issue work-around complete, I want to buy a .357 Magnum barrel. The only ones that show in stock are the special finish models. I just want a plain black barrel for a Mk XIX.
So... does anyone have any idea why these are out of stock most everywhere at most any price?
What I actually did was price a bare slide, all that needs to go in it, then a barrel and magazine... over $1100 USD. I was thinking of a complete slide so I wouldn't have to swap my bolt out in the field and risk loosing several really small parts.
Maybe I should just buy a .357 Desert Eagle?

That is a predicament, Ya the time you put into getting a 357 running in your desert eagle, You really could just buy another one for some more cash. But the quick change ability would be nice, maybe check around on numerich gun parts or gun broker for used parts to help ya along. I also want to get ability for 357, I carry an lcr in 357 and I have the ammo and enjoy it, plus it would be nice to experience.

I saw the slides on Numerich and priced what it would cost new to get a second slide running with NEW parts from various sources... it was over $1000 USD for just a running slide for .357. I can't decide what to do... but $1300 would buy a LOT of .50AE or .44 R-Magnum ammunition... so what it is worth to me, I have not decided yet. I would just really like to have all the calibers I can for my Mk VII .50AE. (Mk XIX) Two years ago I saw a new (old stock) Mk VII .41 Desert Eagle... today I would have bought it in a second. I was focused on other projects (not firearms) at the time. For my gun collecting enjoyment, I consider that a mistake. Anyway... no rush as I am having a blast with my .44 and .50 barrels right now. Heck i was at Jays sporting goods in clare, mi this past weekend, and they had a desert eagle l5 357 for 1475 i didnt think that was to bad of a price honestly. For being a new gun and being vastly different than the other desert eagles. I thought about it but my wife let me buy a tractor and that tied up some money for now.
