Do you own a 50 beowulf AR? I have been seriously considering it or the 450 bushmaster for use in whitetail deer hunting as lower michigan where I live and hunt has opened up the southern, more populated zone to "pistol" caliber carbine hunting. Although the beowulf is not a pistol round, it does meet the qualifications for use in hunting in non rifle zones. The guidelines are cartridge needs to be bigger than .355"(9mm) and longer than 1.25" (357 mag length) But there are length restrictions so you cant go to long, but they fall into the category and are allowed. So If you do run a 50 beowulf, how do you like it? I would settle for a 50 ae single shot, but as far as I know none are made. My brother runs a ruger american 450 bushmaster and has had great luck to 200-250 yards. I would think the beowulf would maybe have a less flatter trajectory, but maybe not. I enjoy 50 caliber rounds immensely, from a reloading standpoint, would the 50 ae and beowulf use same bullets, or is beowulf more 500 sw sized?
Great pics tho really shows the differences.

Short answer is yes, my full dress Beowulf I use the Berry's 300 grain RN jacketed in the DE .50, S&W500, and the .50 Beowulf. I punch holes in paper any more only so I use the same bullet in all 3 of my .50'a about the only thing that changes is the powder used in each and that is mainly for the SW500 I am using a reduced velocity load so I can fire about 75 rounds each session. The Sami specs are 2.160" for a 300gr and for a 500 gr it is 2.165" OAL Max OAL is 2.240" I'm using IMR-4227 at starting suggested gr. In the DE I'm loading IMR-4227@ starting load 300gr and in SW500 I'm loading from data in Lyman's 3rd ed pistol & revolver handbook titegroup powder at the stated load as reducing the amount of powder used for the S&W 500 below the suggested starting grains can cause big problems as the pressures can increase tremendously. I haven't had any problems with using the Berry's 300 gr in and of the above guns.n I'm located in Macomb county Mich by the way. I have ATI's butt pad recoil absorber on it with their hand grip absorber, along with an H-3 titanium Buffer weight. I didn't care for the adjustable stock AA put on theirs so I started with the A-1 stock type but that required setting it up with a new buffer spring, tube and weight. fresk from AA outa the box.

Nice looking rifle, by the way. I that gives me alot to think about in going forward with a 50 beowulf project. I will have to check out alexander arms options and see what I think. Its a small world, Macomb,MI. I live just west of Flint in small town of Durand,MI. Thanks for the pics, very helpful.

The former Railroad capital and crossroads of Michigan! Thanks One word about Alexander Arms. It is a Family mostly outfit, slower than molasses in winter to respond don't count on getting much response unless you order one till after the shot show coming up. it can take up to 8 weeks to get one. I had my local gun shop order it and it was about 6 weeks or so. If and when they have the blemish ammo that is a good deal I have ordered it twice before I got set up to load it.
